Question: if you fell off the statue of liberty, but landed on a massive cushion, would you break any bones?

You probably would yes- even if you landed in a giant pile of feathers!

When we fall we gain a lot of energy, and when we land on the floor all that energy goes through our body, and if there is more energy than our bones can cope with they will break.

You would be better to use a parachute so you fall more slowly and have less energy to deal with when you hit the floor.
