About Me:
I live in Edinburgh, Scotland but I grew up in Kent. I work as a project manager and space scientist at the Royal Observatory of Edinburgh. I enjoy reading, running, yoga and spending time with my dog, Dusty.

How I use Science in my work:
I spend most of my time managing projects to build cameras and other fancy bits and bobs for telescopes. I also look out for what telescopes might be needed in the future, and how we make them bigger and better. Because space is very far away, we have to make cameras which are much better than on our phones! I use science at work to understand what astronomers would like to study in the night sky. I then have to work with engineers to make the equipment they need to make that happen.

Education:
I went to Palace Wood Primary School, followed by Invicta Grammar School for Girls. I then went to the University of York and studied an integrated Masters degree in Physics with Astrophysics.

Qualifications:
GCSE’s in History, Music, Spanish, Triple Science, Maths, English, RE and IT.

Work History:
I used to work at Hilton Hotels as a waitress. I’ve also had jobs at a bubble tea truck at a festival, and worked as an event steward at a Christmas light trail. When i was a student, i also did tutoring to help people learn Maths and Physics.
