• Question: Are there any downsides to working in the NHS?

      For my specialty (engineering), the NHS can be quite slow moving compared to big engineering companies. This can sometimes be frustrating, however I am under a lot less pressure than people in big engineering companies and, I think, I get to work with more interesting people. The other thing would be that because we are spending money that we get from people through taxes, so sometimes we don’t have much money to use and also the money we do have is hard to spend, as we have to prove what we’re buying is worth it.
