Question: What makes dogs noses black and shiny?

The shininess is caused by a layer of mucus (a thick liquid that they make in their skin) that helps keep their skin healthy and helps them to smell. Dogs with black noses just have that skin colour, but you can also get dogs with other coloured noses if they have a different skin colour
