Perseverance: most experiments don’t work first time so you need the strength to keep trying and good troubleshooting skills to figure out what could be going wrong. it’s an amazing feeling when something finally works!

Curiosity – you need to want to learn new things and figure out the answers to problems.
Resilience – to keep going when things go wrong
Communication – not the most common answer, but I think this one is extremely important! Once you have your data, you need to be able to share it with other researchers in your field and the world! Researchers should also aim to be good at communicating data to non-scientists too!
