While I was at school, I saw the first moon landing, Concorde fly for the first time, and had a digital watch. By 6th form I was the proud owner of a scooter (fire engine red Vespa 90!), and played electric guitar through a very old amplifier. With all this technology surrounding me, I was just fascinated by what was about to come along next – so engineering was a natural area to focus my interest. I became an AeroSystems Engineer, and have had a really interesting career – and am still wondering what will come along next.
I always loved animals and loved watching nature documentaries as a child and I grew up near a farm and had lots of pets! This spurred me to do Zoology, originally I wanted to be a vet, but couldn’t face putting animals down!
I then had some health issues and shifted my interests to human health and nutrition!
