Question: Is confidence a big thing in your career and how can you gain it?

I think having confidence is really important not just in the workplace, but in everyday life! Having confidence can help you take on challenges, make decisions, and communicate well. It’s really important that you believe in your ability to learn, adapt and grow, which is really important in your career. I have actually always struggled with my confidence and often suffer with imposter syndrome, so it is something that I always work on.

I make sure that I continue develop my skills and knowledge in Sports Science so I am confident I know what I am talking about. I set achievable goals and when I reach them I make sure I celebrate them, no matter how small! I learn from set-backs and try and use them as a positive and importantly I surround myself with people who inspire confidence in me. I think it’s always important to believe in yourself!
