I would absolutely go back to sixth-form (around 15/16 years old.) I struggled quite a bit during my time at sixth-form as I did not have any permanent teachers, instead relied on endless supplies, online lessons and a lack of resources. I’d go back to then and invest in learning through online tools like TryHackMe, LinkedIn Learning and Pluralsight to get ahead in cybersecurity. I probably would also have chosen to do a degree in pure cyber!

Like most people, I wasn’t quite sure on what I wanted to set my heart on until I started University, having explored various topics such as cloud computing, Linux and networking. Going back, I’d specialise my skills a lot more into cyber rather than branching out.

Important to note that although if I had the opportunity to go back, I would… that doesn’t mean I’m not proud of how far I’ve come! Most people only get into cyber later on in their careers or by chance.

I don’t think I would want to go back. Best to leave the past in the past and just keep looking forward

      What a great question!

I would go back to 13 year old me and explain it is ok to “be weird” and like “boy things” and don’t waste time trying to hide it πŸ™‚

      I love this question.
The quick answer would be 26ish – I had finished doing my PhD and moved to a different country to do research. I didn’t have a good experience – now-me would be much better at standing up for herself and making good use of her time there, and really appreciating all the excellent science.
But actually – if I did that, I wouldn’t have the two wonderful kids I do now. Maybe I’d have equally wonderful kids, or maybe I wouldn’t have any. I love them a lot, so I’ll stick with being now-me :).
