  Body builders consume raw eggs because it is an excellent source of protein, which they need for building muscle as they work out. Also, not all raw eggs carry Salmonella, but there is a risk, which is relatively low in the UK. When cooked, eggs are safer (as the heat would have killed the Salmonella if present) and they are also more digestible by our bodies.

Question: if raw eggs give you salmonella why do bodybuilders drink them?
