NASA is one of the most amazing places in the world to work, filled with really smart people in all kinds of different roles, united by a passion for exploring the universe. Working at Kennedy Space Center means that we get to see rocket launches almost every week, we get to meet astronauts, and we get to live and work in Florida (which is very nice!).
Being at NASA is inspirational, and reminds everyone who works here every day that nothing is impossible. I try to pass on that message – only a few years ago I was like you and many others across the UK, sat in school dreaming about working at NASA. Everybody told me it would never happen, but I didn’t listen and I’m glad I didn’t, because I kept working on my goal, and in 2023 my dream came true.
NASA doesn’t just hire engineers and rocket scientists. They hire plant scientists like me, biologists, accountants, lawyers, project managers, social media creators, and all kinds of other job roles. Being an engineer isn’t what gets you a job at NASA, being yourself and passionate about space exploration is.
