My job is to research what makes cancer cells able so spread around the body and make more tumours. Generally, doctors can treat cancers if they stay in the same place, but once they start making more tumours in different places in the body, it becomes a lot harder to treat. If we can work out how and why cancer cells leave the first tumour and make new tumours, we would be able to make a lot more people with cancer better.
