I think instead of aiming to be like someone else, it’s important to be yourself. That said, I got where I am in studying biology through being willing to ask questions and ask for help. It’s also important to be willing to try, even if you fail; scientists actually fail a lot and usually keep trying until something works.

I believe you are amazing as yourself.
But, if you are asking on career path, I would say be focussed on the goal and persistent.

In terms of career path as a Microbiologist, there a number of things that has help me in my journey:
Being inquisitive, attentive to detail, hardworking voluntary work in different labs and determination. It is also very important that you keep trying even if things don’t seem to work so persistence is the key word here.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and attend open days at University or colleges where you can see various Scientist and have a feel for what they do.
