I’ve not studied it in my job, but I did learn a little during my A levels and university. Did you know you can extract DNA from strawberries at home? https://www.imperial.ac.uk/be-inspired/schools-outreach/secondary-schools/stem-in-action/the-human-body/strawberry-dna–activity/

I’ve been studying DNA since starting Uni 🙂

I’ve studied how some medications are harmful to our chromosomes and make them more fragile.

I’ve studied how a little sequence in the fruit fly’s DNA is capable of affecting its own protein levels.

I’ve studied how several proteins are responsible for giving your DNA a certain specific architecture so it fits inside your cells. Fully stretched out, your DNA is over 2 meters, you need to fold it very tightly so it fits inside cells!

I’m now studying how HIV infection affects our DNA.
