The team I manage interpret that data that we collect offshore. An interpretation of the data involves making sense of the features to non-geoscience specialists – such as engineers. Engineers will then take our interpretation and use it to solve a problem – such as how to bury a cable into the seabed and avoid any buried boulders as this could damage the cable or the equipment used to bury the cable.

My Typical Day:
I wake up at 7 am and have breakfast with my two boys. I either work from home or cycle into the office and usually start work at 9 am. I have lunch with other people in the office. I usually finish work at 5 pm and then home.

I wake up ay 7 am and get my two boys ready for school and pre-school. My wife takes my youngest son to pre-school on the way to work and I walk my eldest son to school. After I get back home I start work or I’ll cycle into the office to work.
I usually start work around 9 am where I will check my emails and then speak to members of the team to see how their project work is going. I typically speak to lots of different people during the day to provide technical support or to solve any problems that may have occurred.
Cycling to and from work is a great way to start and end the day!
