About Me:
I live with my husband, 1 year old and 4 year old daughters in Manchester. I work as a medical oncologist 2 days a week, a researcher 2 days a week, and love dancing, reading and travelling!
-
My pronouns are:
she/her
-
My Work:
I research ways to improve predicting who is higher risk for getting breast cancer, breast cancer prevention, and breast cancer early detection. This is by using genetics and new ways of screening for breast cancer.
-
My Typical Day:
I wake up, play with my daughters, and get them ready for nursery/school. My husband or I take them in and then I go to the university (2 days a week) or the Christie hospital (2 days a week). I get a coffee on the way! My days at work are very varied, and I don’t really have a typical day as it depends on what I am working on, which I like! Generally I spend time in my office writing papers or applying for grants, meet colleagues, develop ideas for new projects or in the lab running experiments or coding trying to figure out the results! I get home about 5-5.30pm.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I would spend it on a project with sixth form/college girls having conversations about their breast cancer risk and getting their advice how to talk to them about ways to reduce it in the future!
