About Me:
I live with my family in Stockport. I am a senior lecturer, running a lab and teaching at Manchester University. I love climbing, hiking, bird watching, techno and South Korean TV!

My pronouns are:
He/Him

My Work:
I am a cancer immunologist, trying to work out how to get your own immune system to fight cancer. My lab tries to understand how cancer cells can switch off or hide from the immune system. We then develop treatments (immunotherapy) that can help the immune system to overcome these barriers, and work more effectively to kill the cancer cells.

My Typical Day:
I get up at 5am (!) and travel to work. My typical day is always varied and fun. I spend my time managing the lab, supervising students, reading scientific papers, writing grants, teaching in lectures or tutorials, meeting students as an academic advisor and having meetings. I leave work at 5 to go climbing or home, depending on the day.

Education:
I went to school in Torquay (I grew up nearby in Paignton) which is down on the south west coast. I always loved biology, so after school I went to Warwick University to study Biological Sciences
