I am from Cyprus and I came to the UK 5 years ago to study for my Bachelor’s degree. I speak Greek, and English and trying to learn Portuguese with an emphasis on trying. I really like watching TV shows and movies. Currently I am rewatching Friends for the 3rd time. When I need to relax I dont really listen to music but I play the piano mainly the Pirates of the Carribean theme song.

This silicone chip is the size of a thumb and it has two mini channels passing through which is where I grow human gut cells before starting with my experiment. The silicone chip is more like a computer chip than a fry.

My Typical Day:
I wake up and drink water then I have breakfast usually a breakfast bar and a banana. I get to work for 9am, where I prepare my lab bench before starting with my experiments. Around 1pm I have lunch with friends, and in the afternoon I go back to the lab to collect my results and see whether I need to repeat something. I go home at 6pm.

In the morning I usually have a breakfast bar and a banana but if I feel like I want to treat myself I am scrable eggs. I get the bus to get to work by 9am, then I go over my plan for the day and I start preparing my lab bench with all the neccecary equipment and materials to start with my experiments. I do my experiments and depending whether I finish on time I will have an early lunch or late lunch in the day. Finishing on time can be affected by if I need to create a new stock for one of the material or If something is not working and I need to speak with my supervisor for some guidance. After my lunch which I usually prepare from the day before I will come back to the lab and analyse the results and decide what I need to do the next day. I usually go home around 6pm but some days I finish very early around 4pm.
