In my current role, I try to understand why people get Parkinson’s disease and why it involves differently from person to person. More precisely, I study the potential role of somatic (not passed from our parents) mutations in a very common neurodegenerative disease called Parksinon’s disease. In my everyday work, I do experiments in order to sequence the DNA of single nuclei from human post-mortem brain disease and healthy tissues to identify large gains or losses in their genome (DNA in their nucleus).
However, I am planning to move to industry in the next few weeks.
