We have started the summer term with a great Marine and Oceans Chat with Farlingaye High School. The students were very curious and scientist Rebecca didn’t hesitate to tell us how brilliant the questions had been and how much she had enjoyed the Chat.  This student (face520cute) was very engaged in the Chat. It was evident that the answers made him reflect and follow up with more unstoppable questions. Burntwood School took part in British Science Week for a second time this year with 8 Chats for different Year 9 classes. Students asked questions that ranged from the scientists’ careers, to websites that could help them study certain subjects, and to shared hobbies like favourite video games or social media. This Year 9 student (band520race) from Burntwood School proved her scientific knowledge and interest despite believing she’s “not very good at science” – we definitely disagree! 👏 Congratulations! 🥳Could you win the next Moderator Award? Great conversations came out of the almost 250 I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here Chats that we ran during British Science Week. 14 of those were with Sir Herbert Leon School, who took part for a second year in a row. Their students, including the one below, were full of plenty of questions and ideas and keen to share their thoughts. Jack Hughes is the latest winner, after receiving the most votes from students! He wins £500 to spend on further science engagement.
