I lead a project team who were setting up 4 important clinical trials in rheumatoid arthritis and Psoriasis which would be using a new drug. We had to set them up in an entirely new computer system whilst using new standards for designing the forms and all whilst trying to do it in a very short period of time. I was working with team members in the UK, US and India. It was really hard but we did it on time.
I have just finished a 3 year term as the elected President of the Analytical Sciences Community (formerly Analytical Division) of the Royal Society of Chemistry. I am the 3rd female President since 1875 which is crazy, but great that things are changing. During my term I achieved so much for the community and hopefully made a difference.
Within education and career, I think it’s been getting onto my PhD programme or supporting students through their final year project and seeing them develop and do so well in their dissertations. Outside of that, I ran an ultramarathon. I hope there’s more big achievements to come (finishing my PhD being the next one)
