One of the projects I was working on was a new coating method on the filter type of a catalytic converter, which removes the gases but also catches soot from the engine (like soot from a fireplace). The design I used improved the removal from ~70% up to 99% of the soot made by the car. This design that I did is now used in some vehicles on the road at the moment, catching and removing more soot which makes the environment a cleaner and healthier place!
