When I was very young I wanted to be a train driver. Very disappointed to discover steam trains were rather rare (Thomas the Tank Engine lied to me!). When I was a bit older I wanted to wanted to be a chemist and a bit older still I thought being a decorative hermit would be a very fine job. Unfortunately there are very few jobs in decorative hermitting these days, even fewer than steam train driving, and the hours are long and the pay is poor, so I went back to wanting to be a chemist again.

I guess I always wanted to be a scientist since I was very young. My parent helped this along by buying my books that reinforced this as well as chemistry sets. My teachers in primary school pushed this even more. Fundamentally, I enjoyed doing science and chose to follow that path.

I wanted to be a fashion designer and later a neurosurgeon.. Sadly I had to give them up due to a tremor in my hands though I’d highly recommend you to chase your dreams. Apart from that tech has always been a love for me so I’m super happy I stuck with it!

An astronaut – but I didn’t grow tall enough! Then artist, or architect… but when I got a bit older and did GCSE sciences I found out that I really enjoyed physics, so ended up going into academic study in that topic. My family were all confused as they all preferred biology 😀
