I have not! During my PhD though I made stem cells behave like they were from a patient with a bone disease by genetically modifying the cells, and this made them look different down the microscope, which was really exciting!

During my PhD project, I produced some mutant strains of bacteria (different form of the original bacteria) with altered properties) and subsequently studied how the mutant differed from the original version in terms of growth and ability to survive different environments.
