Our web platform needs us to create a new subdomain each year in which to run the activity. We choose which subdomain to use based on the people we value the most – teachers and schools.
This year we’ve chosen bridget.imascientist.org.uk, after St Bridget’s Primary School and Nursery in Glasgow. Teachers Moira, Michele, and Helen have been taking part in the activity since 2016. Since the 2020-21 year alone, they’ve engaged their P7 students with over 300 different scientists.
We’ve learned a lot from how they use the activity, like their recent ‘buddying up’ approach, which we now share with other teachers. They often give us valuable feedback and are one of the first schools to book new themes and activities we run.
So that’s why this year’s URL is bridget.imascientist.org.uk. The same will be used across all our projects including I’m an Engineer, I’m a Mathematician, and I’m a Computer Scientist.
