The Sun is always out, we just can’t see it at night. But we often see the reflected light from the Sun off the moon. The reason why we cannot see the Sun is that the Earth rotates and at night, other parts of our planet are facing the sun.

This is also how time zones work. For example, parts further west of us will start their day much later than we do, whereas areas east of us are ahead of us on the same day. For example, when we wake up at 7 am in the morning, in Australia it is much later on the same day, 7 pm.
