Question: why does dogs wag they tail

I’m not sure we actually know! Like, we know that they wag their tail when they’re happy but I don’t know the biological reason why they do that. It seems like we’re still working out why that behaviour evolved, it probably happened when we were domesticating dogs because their other close relatives don’t really seem to do it as much but not clear why!
