It comes down to our DNA (and also the environment we grow up and develop in but I’m going to concentrate on genetics!). Your DNA is like an instruction manual that tells your body how to develop and how to function, so if there are differences in the DNA between two people then they will look or function differently.

Only about 0.5% or so of DNA differs between people, but our DNA is made up of 3 billion nucleotides (basically letters in the instruction manual) so that 0.5% gives you 15 million letters that could be different between you and another person!
