Diffusion is the movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration until evenly distributed.
Fun fact: Diffusion is essential in plants. For example, gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide diffuse in and out of leaves during respiration and photosynthesis. Similarly, water and nutrients move through plant cells via diffusion.
