There are many ways to become a scientist as it covers so many jobs and areas! Most scientists study a scientific field at university, but there are other ways in like internships and apprenticeships. It really depends on what sort of scientist you might like to be!

There’s lots of different ways to be a scientist! I think the main way to be a scientist is to be curious and ask questions 🙂

It depends on what sort of scientist- but the most important thing is to be curious, ask questions, and look for answers. The specifics usually fall into place 🙂 but usually studying some type of science at uni is a good start for a formal career in science

I started working as an assistant in an analytical laboratory straight from school at age 17 then through on the job training, external training courses and my work allowing me to go to college one day a week to study towards an Ordinary National Certificate (ONC), then a Higher National Certificate (HNC) i gained entry to the degree course. It took me 6 or 7 years to get my degree through day release but all the time i was building my skills and earning while i was also learning. Almost 33 years later i’ve worked in different roles and different departments but i’m still here!

Being a scientist is all about finding out how things and processes work. The more we find out, the more chance there is of improving society and our lives.
