• Question: black baboons are cool why do they exist

      Probably the same reason for everything else existing, the traits they had helped them survive in the area they lived in. Their black colouring could have helped camouflage them better from predators and their prey e.g. like the way sharks are dark on top and pale underneath so they are harder to be seen.

      Every animal we see looks a certain way because of the environment they come from. Think about their colour, how they behave, their feet and even diet! All of this has been determined by hundreds of years of evolution, where certain traits have taken over because they were an advantage.

      Their cheeks – they can store food in them similar to hamsters for safekeeping.
      Their colour – Perfect to get plenty of vitamins from the sun.
      Their diet – omnivores so they can have a taste of anything. Food is hard to find where they live so this is a must!
