Also white dwarfs, neutron stars and black holes can be classed as ‘failed’ (i.e. at the end of their life or never got started).

A big gas planet much better than Gas Giants, but not big enough to ignite and be a star would be a Brown Drawf – an almost-but-not-quite-star
