I am a researcher in environmental microbiology, this means I am interested in studying microscopic (really small) animals in the natural environment, primarily in fighting the impacts of climate change . I love football and support Middlesbrough FC, I enjoy hiking and running, and I spend my weekends gardening, paddleboarding and scrapbooking.

What did you want to be after you left school?
Zoologist, I am sort of that now as a Microbial Ecologist, but instead of studying the behaviour of animals I am studying the behaviour of microorganisms.
Were you ever in trouble at school?
Never as serious as a detention or seclusion, but I did receive demerits for forgetting to get my planner signed.
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
Film or Sports Journalist
Who is your favourite singer or band?
My favourite band is FOALS, I have seen them four times! Great songs I would recommend are: My Number, In Degrees, and Wake Me Up.
