My Work:
I work as a Risk Analyst for the Animal and Plant Health Agency – this means I consider the potential likelihood of new animal diseases being brought into the UK.

I have an undergraduate degree in Biology and a master’s degree in One Health, this looks at the connections between human, animal and environmental health to try and get a better understanding of diseases and outbreak events.

My Typical Day:
I wake up and go for a run, then I have my breakfast (porridge with lots of peanut butter) and start work around 9am. I conduct research, read scientific papers, collect data and conduct analysis. After work I meet friends to play netball or have dinner together.

What did you want to be after you left school?
First I wanted to be a vet and then I learned more about the natural world and decided to study biology.
Were you ever in trouble at school?
No - I used to be very quiet and shy!

I would love to open a bakery :)
