My Work:
I currently study bacteria that cause illness in people but are typically found in the stomach of animals. My current work looks at how these bacteria spread across different countries and what sorts of DNA they have that make them difficult to get rid of in people.

My specific bacterium is called Campylobacter that is known to come from chicken meat. What some of my current research aims to do is to see how the different species of Campylobacter affects different types of people as well as characterizing differences in the species themselves.

My Typical Day:
I typically wake up to have coffee and enjoy my morning before walking to work to analyse data on a computer for my research. My lab has lunches together to discuss how our day or week has been and any exciting plans for the weekend. I typically spend the rest of the day making nice figures of my analysis and head home around 6pm.
