      I am originally from Liverpool and I moved to Cumbria a few months ago. I also support Liverpool Football Club. I love to listen to music whenever I feel stressed and my favourite artist has to be Taylor Swift who I was lucky enough to meet (a long story- she is really nice!). I have played the guitar for around 10 years now, and my dream holiday destination is New Zealand!

      I work for a company called Nuclear Waste Services. Here I work to look at potential places to host a permanent underground facility for the UK’s most hazardous nuclear wastes.

      I look at geology (rocks), transport methods, community populations, and engineering methods in my job every day. No two days are the same. I studied Natural Sciences at Uni, so wanted to work in a role that had lots of problem solving and interesting challenges, which this definitely does!

    • My Typical Day:

      I am up and out of the door by 7:30 with my rescue dog, Wilma. I start working between 8.30 and 9.00. I work from home and have various meetings throughout the day. I do a lunchtime walk with Wilma and she usually sleeps the rest of the day 😂.

      I love working from home as it has meant I could adopt my sidekick Wilma. She is 3 years old and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. It’s only the first few weeks of life with her so I’ve been multitasking a lot! My day is shaped around her walks and enrichment which I love.

    • What I'd do with the prize money:

      I want to launch a creative STEM competition for young people with creative prizes.
