      I am Indian PhD fellow working on lunar volcanoes in the UK. When my friends look at the Moon through a telescope, I look at them through a microscope. I work on some cool Moon rocks returned from the Apollo 15 and 17 missions of NASA. I love to go for a run, swim, trek or otherwise dance my heart out!

      I am a 28 yo PhD researcher. I have a huge passion for science communication and public engagement. My long term wish is to work as a librarian or a curator in a museum! I love running and have been actively participating in runs in Manchester since a year now.

    • My Work:

      I work on the rocks that were erupted during volcanic eruptions on the Moon that were collected and returned by the Apollo Astronauts. I look at the rocks through microscope and see what minerals they have 🙂

      I use the minerals present in rock samples to understand the chemical composition of the magma in the Moon. This can be useful in further lunar missions for landing site identification, and studies.

    • My Typical Day:

      I wake up, stretch, freshen up, have breakfast and get to work. I would either be occupied with sample analysis works in the instrumentation facilities at the University of Manchester, or doing high-pressure and high-temperature experiments in a furnace, or if not working on writing research articles in my office. I typically have lunch at 12 and then get back to work until 5 when I finish. I then go for a run if it is sunny, or workout in the gym, and end the day having dinner over a movie or TV show.

    • What I'd do with the prize money:

      I would love to purchase some STEM based books and games that I can take to schools for outreach.
