I am a Trainee Cardiac Physiologist. In my job, I do tests on peoples hearts. I then work with the doctors and look to make peoples hearts work better. I am also at university in Manchester. I go to university one day a week and I work the other 4 days. My job is called a degree apprenticeship.
I love learning about the heart and I have always had an interest in the heart and how it works. I also love working with different patients and making people smile.
I love to travel, I have been on holiday to lots of different places. Some places I have been to are: Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Norway and New York. I also like spending time with my family and my dog, Ted.
I play hockey and I like to keep fit and active. This keeps my brain and body happy and energised. I play hockey for Alderley Edge, however, I sometimes play with my dad and my brother too! I am training to do a triathlon in June, so I am doing a lot of swimming, cycling and running at the moment.

I go to university every Tuesday and then I go into work for the other 4 days of the week. I look at the electrics of peoples heart by doing tests like ECGs, this test shows us how the electrics in the heart are working. We also do tests that look at the plumbing of peoples heart and how the heart looks.
We then work with the doctors to try and fix peoples hearts and make them feel better. We can do this by giving people different medication, or we can do some types of surgery. I get to work with different people every day and I love making people smile.

My Typical Day:
I wake up at 6:30am to go for a run, when I get home, I have a shower, have some breakfast and get ready for work. I get to work at 9am. In the morning, I go around all of the wards in the hospital and check peoples hearts. I then have my lunch with my friends in the canteen. In the afternoon, I work with the Cardiologists (doctors). I check peoples hearts before they go to speak with the doctor. I then go home at 5pm. When I get home, I do university work, to make sure that I have all of my notes written down.

Education:
I went to primary school at Bexton Primary School and I went to high school at Knutsford Academy. I then went on to work for a little while, as I didn’t want to go to university full time. After a few years, I got an apprenticehip, so I was working whilst learning. This was done at Macclesfield Hopital and Sheffield College. After I had finished this, I am now doing my job now. Which is working at Macclesfield Hospital and learning at Manchester Metropolitan University.
