Its often a misconception that you need to be naturally good at science. I enjoyed science but wasn’t good at it unless I studied and tried really hard! This is normal for most people so if you don’t have good grades in Science, whether that be Biology, Computing, Physics or Chemistry, keep trying and keep learning! It will take you far.
Yes…. But I was as good at history at high school as my maths, chemistry and physics.

I think all children start as good scientists, because they are always asking “what happens if…”
The rest is just learning the formal steps to record results and tell other people what you have found. One good thing about the scientific method ( observe-hypothesise ( make a prediction)- test ( do an experiment to test your prediction)- evaluate ( what did find?) – model/ understanding improves ( now you know a new thing) is that is it very forgiving of making mistakes, so you don’t have to be good to start, even as a professional you can learn thing from mistakes!
I enjoyed Physics and Biology but Chemistry not so much. I wish girls were encouraged more to explore physics and science in general when I was at school. Sciences are another subject area which can support careers in various industries.
No, failed all GCSE’s apart from Maths, made it to uni via BTEC. People academically mature at different ages. I was late! I’ve got so much specialist knowledge in my field my education doesn’t play a part. I love my job!
I don’t think anyone is inherently “good” or “bad” at science. It is also important to remember that science is such a broad topic. I always found Physics really fascinating which motivated me to work hard at it – am i “naturally” good at it – absolutely not, but does it deeply interest me – yes! I’ve always had an inquisitive mind, which is one of the main skills for being a scientist.
