• Question: what is your favourite part about being a scientist?

      The amount of freedom I have in choosing what I want to focus on. Of course we all need to do certain things, teaching, writing reports, etc. But overall, I get to decide when I work (as long as the work is done, noone minds), whether I spend all day in the lab or reading about a new method, and how I do things.

    I really enjoy working with patients. In particular as a scientist I really enjoy having to look at the information we can get from patients and work out how we can use it to help that person. Putting pieces of a puzzle together to help doctors get closer to an answer of what might be going on.

    May favourite thing about doing science is finding out new stuff than no-one else knows with my research group and communicating that to other people… scientists, the public… I also enjoy training the next generation of scientisits.
