Min Yap is the latest winner, after receiving the most votes from students! She wins £500 to spend on further science engagement.
Here’s what she had to say about her victory:

I’m very surprised and extremely delighted to be voted this term’s winner of I’m a Scientist. I’m so grateful for this honour and I want to say a massive thank you for all the students and teachers who participated in the chats and contributed questions.
It has been an eye-opening experience to get questions on all aspects of being a scientist. It brought a fresh perspective on my work and made me think about the path that led me here and how I communicate what I’m doing in my research.
Students, thank you for the questions! They were fun to answer and thought-provoking. I’m excited to see where this next generation of scientists are going to take us. Stay curious and keep asking questions! And Teachers, keep nurturing these bright young minds!
Also, a big thank you to the team at I’m a Scientist, for this platform to engage with such a range of students and to share our science with the public. This has been such a good opportunity for all of us to interact and engage in science which is so rare and necessary in this day and age.
And lastly, thank you to my fellow scientists. It’s been so interesting to get to know how you all got into science and to learn about your different fields. Keep sharing your science with others and inspiring them with what you’ve done and what you hope to do.
Thank you again and stay curious!
