I’d argue there isn’t a greatest scientist of all time. There are some great ones, absolutely, who have made amazing discoveries- probably the same ones you learn about in class. But I think a lot of being a great scientist is more than discovering something cool. It’s also about sharing that knowledge in a helpful way to other people, and about helping other people learn more about science, too.

But I’d like to add that the scientists I find most inspiring won’t be the same scientists that you find most inspiring, because we all find different things cool and often this is related to our own personal experiences. Some of the really cool scientists who I find inspiring are Richard Feynman, Marie Curie, Rosalind Franklin, Paul Nurse, Brian Cox and many, many more. They all inspire me for different reasons!
